Little in Equatoguinean football carries the weight of a match between Ebibeyin's tenants, and for 15 de Agosto there is no arena that belongs to it alone.

The team carries its name from a date rather than a founder: 15 August 1982, when Equatorial Guinea ratified its constitution. It formalised in 2011, a distinction that still shapes how the club is read locally — a town side playing its football in someone else's stadium.

What changed the club's standing came fast. That run also opened the door to continental football, with appearances in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The women's side has moved in step, reaching the Women's CAF Champions League, with Ana Maria Nchama among the players who have carried that project forward.
