Antigua GFC

Antigua GFC was founded in 1958 by Dr Miguel Ángel Soto Bustamante and Antonio Martínez Barrios, with Rogelio Toledo Estrada as first president. The name has never changed since. What has changed is who ran the place: administration passed to the municipality of Antigua Guatemala in 1976, and again in 1998 under mayor Vicente Hugo del Pozo, after spells of financial trouble that included a 16-year stretch following relegation in 1983. The club spent much of its history bouncing between divisions, dropping out of Liga Nacional as recently as 2006 before buying its way back to the top flight in May 2014, taking the place of Deportivo Heredia Jaguares de Izabal.

That purchase set up the club's best run.

Fellow Argentine Santiago Gómez led the squad's scoring in that competition with four goals.
