Ciudad Nueva Santa Cruz

Warnes sits on the edge of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, and its newest neighbourhood, Ciudad Nueva, gave its name to a football project the Lafuente business group set in motion in September 2021. That same month, a second side was registered under the name Academia FC, built from what had been Club Blooming's youth ranks. The two ran in parallel for less than two years before merging in 2023 into a single club, one that kept the academy's habit of developing rather than buying and the developer's name on the shirt.

The team plays in the Copa Simón Bolívar, Bolivia's second division, and has yet to force its way past the quarterfinals. It came closest in 2023, reaching the semifinals in only its first campaign as a merged club. In 2024 it went one round short of that but did something no other side in the competition had managed before: it reached the quarterfinals for a second time running, then repeated the feat again in 2025.

Matches are played at the Estadio Samuel Vaca Jiménez in Warnes, a ground the club does not own and will eventually leave behind — work is already under way on a sports city of its own, centred on a stadium built to hold 9,000. Until that opens, Samuel Vaca Jiménez stays home. The club runs its public presence through a Facebook page rather than a website, and Eduardo Vargas has held the presidency since 2025, still under the Lafuente Group's ownership.

Three quarterfinal runs in three years is the number the club has to show for a project not yet five years old.
