Eintracht Frankfurt Women

Seven German championships arrived in a ten-year window, and none of them came under the name the team carries now. The first, in 1998–99, was taken alongside the cup in a season that began with the club barely three months old as a legal entity: the women's section of SG Praunheim had split off in August 1998 and registered itself as 1. FFC Frankfurt, competing under the new name from 1999–2000. Monika Staab held the job from 1998 to 2004 and built the side that won five of those doubles' worth of trophies; Hans-Jürgen Tritschoks followed and took the last three league titles, in 2005, 2007 and 2008.

Birgit Prinz stayed thirteen years, from 1998 to 2011, and remains the face of the club — three Ballons d'Or in that time. Nia Künzner, at Frankfurt from 1997 to 2007, is remembered elsewhere for the 2003 World Cup.

Nine cup wins outnumber the league titles, and the last two came well after the championships had stopped: 2010–11, then 2013–14. Colin Bell arrived for a single season and left with the 2015 Champions League.

On 1 July 2020 the club merged into Eintracht Frankfurt and became Eintracht Frankfurt Frauen. Nico Arnautis, in charge since 2017, kept the job through the change.

Home is the Stadion am Brentanobad in Rödelheim, 5,200 capacity, 1,100 of it under a roof — owned by the city and shared with Rot-Weiss Frankfurt. Deutsche Bank Park opens only for the occasion: in 2022–23 the team played one of twelve home league games there, in front of 23,200, and the other eleven at Brentanobad. The shirt is black with red stripes, the badge the Eintracht eagle.
