Famos Vojkovići

The story starts on 12 May 1968, when Branislav Golubović put together FK Bratstvo in the village of Vojkovići, outside Sarajevo. Ignat Ristović took the chair, Branko Šehovac ran the paperwork, Nikola Brkan coached, and the first result on record was a 3-2 win over Vrbanjuša. The club played through Sarajevo's zonal and city leagues until the war reached Bosnia in 1992 and shut the whole thing down.

It came back in April 1996, driven by Branislav Lubura, first as FK Vojkovići, then renamed the following year for its sponsor, the Famos engine-and-furniture works in East Sarajevo. The new name paid off immediately: in its first season carrying it, 1997/98, the club won the Second League of Republika Srpska and moved up to the First League.

Vojkovići has kept its distance from the top since. A fifth-place finish in the First League in 2007/08 remains the high point above third tier; back down in the Second League it has twice finished runner-up, in 2017/18 and 2020/21. Nebojša Novaković came through Bratstvo Vojkovići between 1980 and 1984 before going on to play for AIK, Djurgården and Väsalund in Sweden.

Matches are still played on the ground in the centre of the village, a stadium with room for 1,500.
