Hafia

Sixteen league titles sit in the record books, but the number that still defines Hafia FC is three: the CAF Champions League, won in 1972, 1975 and 1977. That run built the nickname Tri Campeão, and it carried the club through a golden stretch in the 1970s when the league title in Conakry rarely went anywhere else.

Then the trophies stopped. The wait ended in 2023, under chairman Kerfalla Person Camara, when the league title came back to Nongo. Three years earlier, in 2020, the club had already returned to the CAF Champions League for the first time in 36 years, a sign that the rebuild was under way before the silverware followed.

The name on the shirt has not always been Hafia. In the 1960s, when the first championships were won, the club played as Conakry II, only adopting the Hafia name afterwards. Along with a Guinean Super Cup in 2002, the years between the CAF triumphs and the long drought that came after were filled with domestic success.

Hafia still plays in green and white at the Stade Petit Sory in Nongo, a ground that holds around 5,400 people, but enough to keep the Derby de Conakry loud when Horoya come to town.
