Promotion arrived via the play-offs in 2024–25.
The name itself was not the first choice. The club started out in 1957 as Shabab Al-Rass, went briefly by Al-Nadi Al-Ahli, and only became Al-Hazem — Determination — in 1966, with its ministerial license following three years later. The nickname Al-Samood, the Resilience, fits a history built on repeated climbs back up rather than one long stay at the top: the Saudi First Division League was won in 2004–05 and again in 2020–21, either side of drops back down.
Home is the Al-Hazem Club Stadium in Ar Rass, shared with Al-Kholood. Salem Al-Hamdan wore the shirt from 2016 to 2019.
