The B-nuoret side won the Finnish youth title three times in six years — 2016, 2019 and 2021 — and in 1973 the C-nuoret team beat KuPS 1-0 in the national final. The men's team has never matched that: no Finnish Cup final, no top-flight silverware, and a stint in Veikkausliiga that ended in 2008 with relegation from 14th place.

Brahenkenttä, in the Kallio district, holds 1,000 and has become the club's regular home ground in place of the Max Westerberg Areena in the Käpylä sports park, where the club played for years before. Black and white have stayed the colours throughout: a black shirt with white sleeves, black shorts, and getres that switch between black and white by season.

The academy has sent players further than the first team has gone. Simo Valakari came through the club in 1984-1991 and later returned to coach it. More recently, Leo Väisänen left the youth ranks for MLS and the Finland squad, and Onni Valakari followed a similar path from KäPa's academy to Cyprus's Pafos FC and the national team. Juri Kinnunen, who played for the club between 1994 and 2004, went on to make over 200 appearances in Finland's higher divisions. Among the academy's other exports are players now at Eintracht Braunschweig and Esbjerg fB, and — outside football — two of Finland's better-known basketball players spent their youth in the club's ranks.
