National Defense

Three Cambodian league titles came in the 1980s and early 1990s, in 1985, 1986 and 1993, when the club still played as the Ministry of Defence. The name changed with the country around it: after the monarchy was restored in 1993 it became the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces Football Club, and in 2008 it was renamed again, to the Ministry of National Defence Football Club. Between 2020 and 2026 it competed under a sponsor's name, Tiffy Army, before returning to its historic identity.

No league title has followed since 1993, but the club has kept close to the top, finishing runners-up in 2008, 2016 and 2017, and it has never dropped out of the Cambodian Premier League since the competition's modern era began in 2007. The Hun Sen Cup has been kinder: won in 2010, 2016 and 2018, with further final defeats in 2011 and 2013. In 2017 the club also took the Asia Clubs Pre-Season Championship.

The club's reputation rests less on strikers than on goalkeepers. Sou Yaty , Samrith Seiha , Um Vichet and Um Sereyroth have all gone from between its posts to the Cambodia national team, and one of them, Phea Sopheaktra , later returned to the club as head coach.

Matches are played at the RCAF Old Stadium in Phnom Penh, an 8,000-capacity ground that had LED floodlights fitted in 2024.

These are not ordinary derbies but meetings between armed forces, police and interior ministry sides, part of the wider Phnom Penh Derby scene.
