The Czech Cup Opava lifted in 2005 came under a name the club no longer carries. A French-language record also credits a league title the following year, but that honour sits with the men's side rather than the women's team.
S.K. P.E.M.A. Opava, known too as Happy Sport Opava, picked up the women's programme in 2010, stepping in once the old club had gone. What it inherited was a place in the city's volleyball rather than a settled identity of its own: no nickname has attached itself to the side, and it goes by the city's name or its acronym.
Matches are played at Hala Opava. The club has since dropped out of the top division and now competes in the lower tiers, the 1. liga žen and the 2. liga among them.
What has stayed constant is Ostrava. Games against VK Ostrava carry the weight of a regional rivalry.
