Ostrava B Women

The B-team draws on it anyway, in the way a reserve squad always does: it wears the club's blue and white.

The parent club goes back to 1921, when it started life as Sokol Moravská Ostrava, before settling on VK Ostrava in 2011. None of that history belongs to the women's side directly; it has no founding date of its own, because it exists to feed the senior structure rather than to stand apart from it. What it has instead is a level to work at: the Moravian-Silesian regional championship, where it finished third in 2022/23, and a place in the Women's Extraliga this past season, a step up that matters more to a development side than any trophy would.

Home games are played at Sportovní hala Sareza in Přívoz, a hall that seats under a thousand and rarely needs more than that for a B-team fixture. The men's first team carries the rivalry with Frýdek-Místek and the Extraliga titles from the mid-2000s and early 2010s; the women's side has built none of that yet. For now the task is narrower — hold its place in the Extraliga and keep producing players the first team can use.
