OshMU Aldier

Before Osh State University put its name on the shirts, the club that became OshMU Aldier had already worked its way up the country's football pyramid from the village of Kurshab. Four times between 2011 and 2015 it topped the Southern zone of the First League, and in 2013 it won the division outright — the peak of a run built in the regional game, not the top flight.

That history changed hands in August 2022, when the university merged its programme with the old Kurshab-based Aldier, founded in 1994, creating the first football club run by a university in Kyrgyzstan. The Kyrgyz Professional Football League admitted the new club the following March, and it made its debut in the top division within months of forming.

Home games are played at the Akhmatbek Suiumbaev Stadium in Osh, with capacity given as 12,000, though in the 2025-2026 season some fixtures have shifted to the smaller Manas Stadium in nearby Kara-Suu. The nickname "Students" needs no explanation given where the club came from.

Abror Kydyraliev, a four-time champion of Kyrgyzstan and a full international, has played for the side, alongside age-group internationals Erbol Kultaev and Bekzatbek Nasirov. In 2023 the squad included 9 foreign players, from Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan, one of the largest legionnaire contingents in the league that year.

The promotion has not yet brought a major trophy; a seventh-place finish in 2024 remains the club's best in the Premier League. What draws attention now is Osh itself, where every meeting with Alay is billed as the city's derby.
