Dordoi Bishkek

Naryn sits high in Kyrgyzstan's mountains, a regional centre far from the capital, and it was there, in January 1997, that businessman Askar Salymbekov set up a football club. On 3 March that year Dordoi from Naryn played its first official match, against Alga-PVO. The team spent its first decade tied to that town: it briefly merged with the SKIF sports institute in 1998, playing as Dordoi-Zhashtyk-SKIF, then reverted to the Dordoi name and, in 2004, became Dordoi-Dinamo — still based in Naryn when it won its first national championship. Only in 2010 did the club relocate to Bishkek, dropping the extra names and settling on Dordoi.

Boris Podkorytov coached that first title in 2004, along with the first Cup and back-to-back wins of the AFC President's Cup in 2006 and 2007. Sergei Dvoryankov took over in 2008 and added four more championships and three cups before 2013, and Alexander Krestinin later strung together four straight titles between 2018 and 2021. Between them, Dordoi has been crowned champion of Kyrgyzstan thirteen times and lifted the national Cup eleven times, making it the most decorated club in the country's football history.

Zamirbek Zhumagulov remains the club's all-time top scorer, while Ruslan Sydykov has captained the side since 2001. The team plays in yellow and blue — Sary-Köktör to its own supporters — and is known officially as Dordoychular.

Home games are still played at the club's own SK Dordoi, which the club lists at 1,157 seats, though for bigger occasions Dordoi moves to the 23,000-capacity stadium that otherwise serves as the national team's home.
