Kara-Balta

In 2009 and 2010, two clubs in Kara-Balta carried the same inheritance forward at once: MFK Kara-Balta and Khimik KGRK, both tracing back to the town's mining-plant side, with no record settling which one was the true continuation.

The plant team itself had been playing since 1952, when it represented the Kara-Balta mining-processing combine, though a separate company website puts the club's founding at 2007, counting only the modern incarnation.

Between those two points the side changed its name repeatedly: Kalininskoye until 1961, then Alga, then Khimik from 1968 to 1996, followed in quick succession by Dinamo, Bakai and Zhayyl-Baatyr before it settled on Kara-Balta in 2006. In 2024 the city handed the club to the gold-mining company Kyrgyzaltyn, and the name changed again, along with the colours — the red home shirt gave way to yellow and gold, the company's own.

All of the club's silverware belongs to the Soviet period: champion of the Kirghiz SSR in 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1967, and Kirghiz SSR Cup winner seven times through the 1950s and 60s. Since Kyrgyzstan's independence, the best finish has been fourth place, in 1997 and 2001, with the closest run at a modern trophy stopping in the Cup semi-final, in 2018 and again in 2023.

Urmat Abdukaimov played up front for the club between 2017 and 2019 before going on to coach Kyrgyzstan's national side.

The club still plays at Manas, in Kara-Balta, a ground the Kyrgyz Football Union lists at 2,150 seats since a 2024 rebuild, though older counts put it closer to 4,500.
