Ryazan

Ryazan-VDV, brought together with the men's team in 2023, won the Russian championship in 1999, 2000, 2013 and 2018, and took the Russian Cup in 1998 and 2014.

The men's team has never won a national title. Its one entry on the honours board dates to 1965: first place in the zonal group of the Soviet championship's Class B section. Since then the closest it has come is second place in the Russian PFL, in 2005, 2014/15 and 2020/21, and a run to the last 16 of the Russian Cup in 2013/14.

Getting there took survival as much as progress. The original team, founded in 1949 as Spartak and renamed over the years to Trud, Zvezda, Torpedo and Ryazan-Agrokompleft, was wound up in 1995. An amateur side built up from futsal took its place, renamed Ryazan-Agrokompleft in 2000 and simply Ryazan in 2007, before it too collapsed into bankruptcy in 2009. That November the regional government set up a new institution to keep football running in the city, under the name Zvezda; it took the field in 2010 and reverted to the name Ryazan in 2014.

Home matches are played at the Spartak stadium, called Olimpiets for a few seasons around its 2010 relaunch before the old name returned. The stadium holds 6,000.
