Salamanca UDS

When Unión Deportiva Salamanca collapsed and was dissolved in 2013, a group of supporters in the city registered a new side that August under the name CD CF Salmantino. The name changed twice as the project grew, to CF Salmantino UDS in 2017 and then to Salamanca CF UDS in September 2018.

The climb went fast by the standards of Spanish regional football.

José María Hernández took the club through its early rise, and José Miguel Campos was in charge for the 2018 promotion; Iker Muniain took over as head coach for the current season. Figures from the old UD Salamanca, among them Vicente del Bosque, have lent their support along the way, a link the club leans on more than most given how directly it claims that heritage. The derby with Unionistas de Salamanca CF remains the fixture that matters most locally, two clubs from the same city both trying to stand in for the one that went under.
