About

The Copa Federación de España, commonly branded as the Copa RFEF, operates as the secondary national cup competition in Spanish football. Organised by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF), the tournament provides a national stage for clubs outside the top two tiers. It gathers teams from the Primera Federación, Segunda Federación and Tercera Federación that have not secured qualification for the primary Copa del Rey. Regional winners from autonomous federations also enter the contest. The modern iteration began in 1993, replacing the Campeonato de España de Aficionados. The RFEF does not link the current format to the original tournament founded in 1944, which ran until 1953. The structure comprises two distinct stages. Autonomous federations administer regional phases, with winners progressing to the national phase. The national phase involves 32 teams divided into four groups. The group stage functions as a knockout tournament, with the winner of each group advancing to the semi-finals. The four semi-finalists earn qualification for the Copa del Rey for the following season. The final is played at a neutral venue. The winner also receives a monetary prize. CD Puertollano holds the record for the most titles in the modern era, having won three editions. CD Ourense and Pontevedra CF have each claimed two victories. Ourense CF won the 2024–25 edition by defeating Orihuela CF 3–0 in the final. The competition maintains its official title without a title sponsor.
