Sileks answered that by winning three league titles in a row, in 1995/96, 1996/97 and 1997/98, in the first years after independence, and that run still defines how the club is spoken about at home and away. Nobody who saw it forgets that those seasons also carried the club into the Cup Winners' Cup, where Sileks beat the Hungarian side Vác in the first round.

The cups have mattered nearly as much. Sileks lifted the national cup in 1993/94 and again in 1996/97, inside that same golden stretch, and the habit did not stay buried in the 1990s: the club won it again in 2020/21 and once more in 2025/26.

Sileks dropped out of the top flight in 2013 and came straight back the following season; it happened again in 2021, and again the club was back up within the same campaign.
