The club itself dates to 2006, formed under the State Institution "Volleyball Club Minsk" out of that factory side.

The run that made the club's name came a few years later: seven straight Belarusian Championships, from the 2009/10 season through 2015/16. Belarusian Cup wins followed in 2013, 2016 and 2017, and a Super Cup in 2018. Abroad, the club reached the CEV Challenge Cup semi-finals in 2014/15, having made its European debut back in 2009, and twice tested itself in the Russian Superliga, in 2011/12 and again in 2022/23.

Oleg Mikanovich has coached the side since 2021. In September 2024 the men's team dropped the Stroitel name altogether, becoming Stolitsa — Capital.
