Vitesse

Bobo-Dioulasso already had two established sides, ASF and Racing Club, when a group put together Vitesse FC in 2015. It took until the 2019–20 season for that work to show: winning Group B of the First Division sent the club into the Burkinabé Premier League for the first time. The debut in the top flight was shaky, a 14th-place finish that left little room for error, but Vitesse kept climbing, and by 2022–23 it had reached third, its best league placing to date.

The trophy came in 2026. Vitesse met Sporting FC des Cascades in the Coupe du Faso final at the Stade du 4-Août in Ouagadougou, drew 1–1, and went through 6–5 on penalties. Assamy Sanssan Dah put away the spot kick that levelled the match, and it was Lamine Parker Sidibé who won the penalty that decided it. The cup was Vitesse's first major honour and carried the club into the CAF Confederation Cup. Confirmation of arrival came a few months later in the Supercoupe AJSB against Rahimo FC, played in front of a Bobo-Dioulasso crowd that treated it as a derby in all but name; Rahimo held on to the trophy.

Mamadou Zongo, known to supporters as Bébéto, has managed the club since at least 2017. The team has also become a way station for the city's football: Franck Aimé Tologo captains the side after coming through Rahimo's youth ranks, while others, Sansan Dah among them, have moved on once they made their name here.

Fixtures against ASF and Racing Club remain the fiercest on the calendar, both clubs sharing the same city and the same claim on it. Vitesse plays its own matches at the Stade Wobi, in red and blue, in the town that gave the club its rivals as much as its support.
