Estadio Municipal de El Alto
El Alto, Bolivia
Formerly: Estadio de Villa Ingenio, Estadio Municipal de Villa Ingenio
Above 4,000 metres, the Estadio Municipal de El Alto sits in Villa Ingenio, on Calle Magdalena Rocha, on a plateau. On 19 May 2019, during Always Ready's match with Oriente Petrolero, referee Víctor Hugo Hurtado, 32, suffered a cardiac arrest and died.
Construction ran from 1 December 2013 and cost 55.8 million bolivianos, commissioned by the Autonomous Municipal Government of El Alto. President Evo Morales Ayma opened it on 16 July 2017, and the fixture chosen was the clásico paceño between Bolívar and The Strongest, timed to the 208th anniversary of the La Paz revolution.
Always Ready moved in that year and has stayed. In 2018 the ground held the Copa Simón Bolívar final between Always Ready and Avilés Industrial. CONMEBOL certified it for Libertadores and Sudamericana football from 2024, the same year Bolivia's national side played its first official match here, a 2026 World Cup qualifier against Venezuela in September.
Club ABB and Deportivo FATIC also use it.
