Michael Penix Could Return to Falcons Lineup Against Packers
Falcons QB Penix trained fully but Cooper Rush kept the starting spot; Tua Tagovailoa may also return from an oblique injury for Thursday's Packers game.
Penix trained without restrictions again this week. On Friday, though, he gave up the first-team offence spot to Cooper Rush. Rush, 32, started for the second game running on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
Tua Tagovailoa may also be back for Green Bay after an oblique injury. He is expected to return to practice next week and, if cleared, would back up Penix. Reports of a trade or a release have circulated, but the Falcons do not plan to part with him. Tagovailoa signed for the veteran minimum after leaving the Miami Dolphins in the offseason.

If neither quarterback is ready on Thursday, their next chance comes on 5 October in Week 4 against the New Orleans Saints.
