About the player
Kleo Mélières grew up in Besançon, where he took his first steps in the game at Racing Besançon before Sochaux-Montbéliard's academy picked him up in 2018. He spent four years there before returning to his boyhood club in 2022, this time in the first team, where he made 23 appearances and scored five goals in Championnat National 2.
Metz took note, signing him on a free transfer in May 2023. He spent two seasons with the reserve side, FC Metz II, in Championnat National 3, making 46 appearances and adding six more goals to his tally. That body of work earned him his first professional contract in June 2025, and four months later he stepped onto a Ligue 1 pitch for the first time, named in Metz's line-up against Lille. It was a harsh introduction — Metz lost 6–1.
First-team minutes remained scarce afterwards, and last year Metz sent him out on loan to Bastia in Ligue 3 for the 2026/2027 season. He has featured four times for the Corsican club so far.
