Daryl van Mieghem

Daryl van Mieghem's career has seen spells at several clubs. He started out at AFC, helping the club win the Hoofdklasse Sunday A title in 2009–10 and earn promotion to the Topklasse, before a move to Heracles Almelo. Spells at Telstar and Excelsior followed as he searched for regular minutes, and a return to Heracles in 2016 again left him short of chances.

The turning point came on loan at De Graafschap. A first loan spell in January 2017 produced three goals in 14 games, but it was the extended second loan, from the summer of 2017 to June 2018, that marked a shift in his fortunes: 18 goals in 43 appearances as De Graafschap won promotion to the Eredivisie via the play-offs, beating Almere City 3–2 on aggregate. He signed permanently that summer and went on to score 19 goals in 89 league appearances over three seasons.

A move to FC Volendam in 2021 brought another promotion, with 11 goals and 14 assists in 2021–22, and included a hat-trick against MVV Maastricht. Van Mieghem has twice topped the Eerste Divisie assist charts, leading the division with 15 in 2023–24 and finishing second with 14 the season before. He has also twice scored in the first minute of a match, against NAC Breda in 2019–20 and MVV Maastricht in 2024–25.

Since joining ADO Den Haag on a free transfer in August 2023, he has passed 100 appearances for the club and scored 25 goals, playing a central role in the Eerste Divisie title win, and his contract has been extended to 2027.
