About the player
Vila Nova have Hayner on loan from Santos this season. The right-back, born in Serra, in Espírito Santo, came through Rio Branco-ES before being taken into Bahia's youth ranks, where he broke into the first team and played there across 2015 and 2016.
What followed was a run of loans that took him around Brazilian football and briefly out of the country. Náutico had him in 2016, Paysandu across 2017 and 2018, and after a permanent switch to Novorizontino and a spell in Portugal with Louletano, he returned to Brazil with Cuiabá and then Azuriz. Sport Recife, Atlético Goianiense and Coritiba each took him on loan in turn, and in between he had a stint abroad at Dnipro-1 in Ukraine.
Santos signed him in 2024, and that year he was part of the squad that won the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. A loan to CRB followed in 2025 before his move to Vila Nova. Hayner has represented Brazil at youth level but has not been capped by the senior national side.
