About the player
Mamadou Fofana was born in Le Havre and came through the youth system at the local club, working his way up to the reserve side before making his professional debut for Le Havre AC in Ligue 2 in 2020, scoring once in nine appearances.
In September 2024, Fofana left France for Switzerland, signing a two-year contract with Challenge League club FC Aarau. His time there was interrupted in August 2025 by a loan to Austrian Bundesliga side FC Blau-Weiß Linz, where he made 24 appearances and scored one goal. The season ended in relegation for the club. His contract with Aarau expired at the end of June 2026.
Fofana holds both French and Mauritanian citizenship and chose to represent Mauritania at senior international level, making his debut for the national team in June 2026.
