Sanika Bergtop

Sanyika Bergtop made his mark on ADO Den Haag's championship season before he had made twenty senior appearances. On 6 April 2026 he was handed his first start and played 66 minutes before making way for Milan Hokke. The match ended 4-0 to ADO Den Haag, a result that clinched the Eerste Divisie title and promotion to the Eredivisie — meaning Bergtop's full debut in the side coincided with the club securing the championship.

Bergtop grew up in Groningen and started out with local clubs VVK, SV Bedum and GVAV-Rapiditas before joining FC Groningen's academy. A season at AVV Zeeburgia followed, and in 2020 he moved to Ajax's youth setup, where he spent five years developing as a defender. He left Ajax on a free transfer in July 2025 and signed for ADO Den Haag, initially assigned to the O21 squad. His progress was swift: he was promoted to the first team in January 2026 and signed a professional contract running until the middle of 2028.

In his debut Eerste Divisie campaign, Bergtop made four appearances for ADO Den Haag without scoring or registering an assist. He plays right-footed and wears the number 35 shirt.
