Adelaide Raiders

Gold shirts and green shorts still go out at Gepps Cross, on a ground that holds 1,500, and in 2026 the Raiders took the State League 1 premiership. The season before it, they went further than the club had gone in four decades.

That was the 2025 Australia Cup. A 1-0 win over FK Beograd put them into the Round of 32, their first appearance in the competition since the 1960s. The Beograd fixture carries its own weight in Adelaide: two clubs out of Balkan migration, FK Beograd founded in 1949, drawing crowds the rest of the local calendar does not. The 2026 cup run stopped earlier, 2-0 to Pontian Eagles in the fourth preliminary round.

The club came out of a group of Croatian immigrants who wanted a team of their own, and in 1952 they got one, playing on the South Parklands off Greenhill Road. Hanson Reserve held them from 1960 until the move to the Croatian Sports Centre in 2000. For most of the 2010s the name on the fixture list read simply Adelaide Raiders; the word Croatia came back officially in 2021, once Football Australia's rules allowed it.

John Kosmina, who played for Australia and managed in the A-League, took charge for a spell in 2010. Joel Porter followed in 2015 and was there for the relegation to the first division in 2016 — the return to NPL South Australia came two years later.

Five First Division titles sit behind them, the last in 2002. The current task is narrower: turning premierships in State League 1 into a way back up.
