Aduana Stars

Yahaya Mohammed left the club with more than 40 goals to his name and a season on loan at OGC Nice. Aduana Stars grew out of an arrangement rather than a business plan: four men from the town, led by Agya Donkor, asked the Aduanahene for the clan's blessing to put a football club on its name in 1985. The Dormaa Hene has chaired its board ever since, sitting alongside chiefs from the Bono Region, and the club still carries the clan's name, Aduana, meaning "Customs" in Akan.

A second title came in 2016–17, with Zakaria Mumuni among the forwards who delivered it, and in 2018 the club beat Kotoko itself to the Ghana Super Cup. Aduana Stars has stayed in the Premier League ever since going up.

Godfred Saka captained the side through both league-winning campaigns and went on to play for Ghana. That habit of upsetting the established order runs through the club's relationship with its neighbours too.
