Fakirerpool

The Shaheed Barkat Stadium holds 5,000 people. Fakirerpool YMC has occasionally had to shift matches to Manikganj when the calendar demanded it, but Gazipur is home.

The club has climbed the pyramid one rung at a time: the Dhaka Third Division in 1961, the Second Division in 1987, the First Division twice by 2003–04, then the Senior Division three times, the last of those in 2014. Only twice has it reached the Bangladesh Championship League, in 2015–16 and again in 2023–24. Both times promotion followed. The Federation Cup and the Independence Cup have stayed out of reach; a group-stage finish in 2022–23 is as close as either has come.

Staying up has proved harder than getting there. In the 2024–25 Bangladesh Premier League, Fakirerpool YMC finished eighth of the teams involved, with six wins and eleven defeats from eighteen matches, scoring 23 and conceding 54.

What Fakirerpool YMC is known for in Dhaka football circles is producing footballers rather than collecting trophies.
