Legion's youth side, the 2003 age group, went to Sweden in 2014 and won the Gothia Cup to become the first Estonian team ever to take the trophy.

TJK Legion came together on 4 January 2008, when Tallinna Jalgpalli Klubi, a name on the Estonian game sheet since 1921, merged with Tallinna SK Legion, founded only in 2004. As Tallinna JK it had won the national championship in 1926 and 1928 and the Estonian Cup in 1939.

That shift showed up in the results that followed: promotion through the lower tiers, IV Liiga champions in 2017, Esiliiga B champions in 2018, Esiliiga champions in 2019. It did not hold. In 2023, financial difficulties forced the club to walk away from top-flight football and drop back into Esiliiga B, the third tier.

Denis Belov has managed the side since 2016, long enough to have overseen both the climb and the retreat.
