Leotar

Football in Trebinje predates the club that would carry its name. In 1919 a group calling itself Ferialac began organising matches in the town, and out of that early activity Leotar was formally established on 19 August 1925, taking its name from the mountain that overlooks the town. The blue and white colours have stayed with it since.

The club's one season at the top came in 2002–03, when it won the Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina title and reached the domestic cup final the same year. That league win sent Leotar into the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, where they knocked out CS Grevenmacher before Slavia Prague ended the run. A year earlier they had already taken the Republika Srpska league and cup double, and they added the Republika Srpska cup twice more, in 2004 and again in 2021 after a spell in the lower divisions.

Nebojša Gudelj came through at Leotar in the late 1980s before his career took him to PSV Eindhoven and Hertha BSC, and Velibor Pudar started out here as well, though he made his name at Velež Mostar and with Yugoslavia. Matches against Stolac and Čapljina carry the sharpest edge locally, even if no fixed name has attached itself to either fixture.
