Oriku

The soldiers stationed at the Pashaliman naval base in the summer of 1955 had Soviet specialists working alongside them, and between drills the two groups put together a football team entered into a tournament for military units. That is how Oriku began, and the name it took was older still — Oricum, the Illyrian settlement that once stood nearby.

The club has spent most of its life shuttling between the third and second tiers rather than settling in either. Promotion to Kategoria e Dytë came in 2013, and by 2018 Oriku had climbed a level further into Kategoria e Parë after finishing second in its group. That stay did not last: relegation followed in 2022. The club answered by winning Group B of Kategoria e Dytë outright in the 2024–25 season, a result that sent it back up to Kategoria e Parë for the campaign ahead.

Stadiumi Oriku, also known as the Petro Ruci Stadium, holds 2,000. Blue and white are the colours, and there is no nickname attached to the name; people call it Oriku, nothing more elaborate.

Geography has given the club its sharpest fixture: away days against Flamurtari Vlorë carry the weight of a derby simply because the two towns sit so close together on the coast. Ergis Mersini, who had already played in the top flight for Flamurtari and Vllaznia, turned out for Oriku across the 2019–20 season, while Ervis Kasaj moved on from the club to Bylis Ballsh's Kategoria Superiore side in 2023.

Oriku has not yet played a season in Albania's top division.
