Rijnsburgse Boys play the Katwijk derby, and in this corner of South Holland it needs no other name — locally it is simply "the Mother of all Derbies", fixed on the calendar whenever the club and Quick Boys share a division. The two towns sit close enough that the rivalry runs on proximity as much as history.

The club itself grew out of Rijnsburg's identity as a bulb and vegetable-growing village, and the nickname Onions still points back to that trade. Founded on 24 March 1930 as Rijnsburgse Football Club, it had to drop the initials RFC almost immediately after another local association objected to the clash, settling instead on the name it carries now. For nearly three decades afterwards it had no ground to call its own, shifting between fields around the village until the municipality cleared the last of them, on Kanaalstraat, for housing in 1954. Members built Sportpark Middelmors themselves, and the club has played there since August 1957, adding a clubhouse in 1972 and two stands by the end of that decade.

Its best season on paper came in 2008, when Rijnsburgse Boys beat Achilles '29 2-0 to win the KNVB Cup for amateurs, part of a run of Hoofdklasse titles either side of that decade. In the professional cup, the club has occasionally troubled Eredivisie sides — Fortuna Sittard and RBC Roosendaal both went out to them, and a run to the last sixteen in 2013 ended against PSV. Youri Regeer came through the youth academy before moving on to Ajax; Jesse Buurmeester, formerly of AZ Alkmaar, has played for the first team since 2025.

For all the amateur silverware, a permanent place among the professional clubs has stayed out of reach.
