San Giovanni

Don Fedele, the parish priest of San Giovanni sotto le Penne, put a team together in 1948 to keep the neighbourhood's young men occupied, and it was he who paid for the first set of red-and-black shirts. For decades afterwards the club held to a rule of its own: only men born in the parish could wear those colours.

That policy of autarky shaped the club's fortunes more than anything else. San Giovanni has never lifted the Campionato Sammarinese di Calcio or the Coppa Titano, and its closest brush with the title came in 1985–86, when it finished runner-up. The one piece of silverware in the cabinet arrived in 1994–95, a Serie A2 championship that sent the side up into the top flight.

Matches against AC Libertas and SP Cailungo are still billed as the Derby di Borgo Maggiore. Andrea Moroni wore the shirt from 2016 to 2021 before going on to earn caps for the San Marino national team.

The Stadio Borgo Maggiore, where the club has always played, holds 1,000 people.
