Sandviken Women

Sandviken Women start this season back in Elitettan, Sweden's second tier, after winning Division 1 Norra in 2025. Their only previous season at that level came in 2020, when they finished 13th and went straight back down; it took five years to get back.

The team dates to 1971, set up as a section of Sandvikens IF. It stopped operating in 1997 and stayed dormant until 2016, when the club rebuilt it out of its girls' youth structure and won Division 3 in that first season back.

Home matches are played at Jernvallen, shared with the men's side, whose crest the women's team also wears. Red on the body and socks, white on the sleeves and shorts — the kit gave the club its nickname, Klödrästarna.

The academy keeps feeding the first team: Signe Zetterberg, capped by Sweden's youth squads, and striker Maja Alvin both came up through it, alongside midfielder Emma Halvarsson. A goalkeeper with previous Damallsvenskan experience arrived over the summer, and Vilma Näslund continues to feature after 200 appearances for the club.

Lova Andersson is the name best known around Jernvallen right now. She finished as Division 1 Norra's top scorer in 2025, with 25 goals in the campaign that carried Sandviken back up.
