Vålerenga Women

Vålerenga Fotball opened a women's section in 1982, and the team that grew from it has stayed under the same roof as the men's side even as the club around it changed shape — when the men's elite team was split off into its own legal entity, Vålerenga Fotball Elite, in 2014, the women's team stayed with the parent club.

The club plays its home matches at Intility Arena, a 16,555-capacity ground it moved into after years at Vallhall Arena, which it used until 2017.

Vålerenga's run of Toppserien titles in 2020, 2023 and 2024 came alongside four wins in the Norwegian Cup, most recently in 2025, though the team has also come up short there, losing finals in 2017, 2019 and 2023. Sherida Spitse, the Dutch midfielder who anchored the side between 2018 and 2020, arrived as one of several full internationals to wear the shirt in that period; Isabell Herlovsen, the Norway forward, returned to the club in 2018 having already made her name there.

Vålerenga now competes in the UEFA Women's Champions League as well as Toppserien, carrying the runner-up finishes of 2019, 2022 and 2025 into a title race it has already won three times this decade.
