Scotland Mabvuku

Rufaro Stadium in Harare seats somewhere between 35,000 and 60,000, and for now it is where Scottland FC brings its crowds, while the club works toward a smaller, 15,000-seat ground of its own on the Number One Grounds back in Mabvuku, the Harare suburb that gave the team its name.

The club exists because Pedzisayi "Scott" Sakupwanya wanted it to. A gold dealer and the Member of Parliament for Mabvuku-Tafara, he founded Scottland in 2023 and has called it a twenty-year project, one he expects his children to inherit rather than something built for quick returns. That spending power is what earned the club its nickname, the Mamelodi Sundowns of Zimbabwe . Yellow and navy blue are the colours that go with it.

The results came fast. Scottland won the Northern Region Soccer League in 2024 and went straight up to the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League, where in their very first season, 2025, they took the title outright — the first club to do that in its debut top-flight campaign since Black Rhinos managed it in 1984. Players like Khama Billiat have given the squad a profile to match the ambition behind it.

Money has also bought Scottland an enemy of similar means: Simba Bhora FC, and matches between the two are treated as a contest between Zimbabwean football's deepest pockets. Scottland added the Castle Challenge Cup to their run, beating Dynamos 5–0 in the final.
