Guizhou Zhucheng had two legs in which to settle the 2024 Chinese Champions League final and lost the tie 6–1 on aggregate. Shenzhen 2028 came out of that final round without a defeat — five wins and two draws — and the title carried promotion with it, into China League Two.
The club had existed for barely a year by then. It was formally established on 2 November 2023 in Shenzhen, in Guangdong province, and had no permanent ground of its own while doing it.
That came later. The Shenzhen Youth Football Training Base Stadium opened on 12 February 2025, some months after the promotion was secured, and holds 10,000. The name is plain enough about what the site is for.
League Two has been the level since the 2025 season, and with it came entry to the FA Cup, where the draw sent the club to Shaanxi Union.
