Szombathelyi KKA Women

Szombathely's women's handball scene split in 2015, when a youth project called Student Comfort Kézilabda Utánpótlás Központ broke away from the city's established club, Haladás, and grew into Szombathelyi KKA, backed by roughly 30 million forints of investment.

The club, known in the league as SZKKA, plays in blue and white and took a while to reach the top flight, winning promotion through NB I/B before its first spell in NB I ran from 2019 to 2022. It dropped back down, returned for 2024–2025 and finished eighth of fourteen teams, then stayed up for the 2025–2026 season. A national title has stayed out of reach, though the club came closest in the 2011–12 Magyar Kupa, reaching the final only to lose to Győri Audi ETO KC.

Home games are shared between Arena Savaria, which holds 3,500, and the far smaller Haladás Sportkomplexum, a reminder of the club's ties to the rival it split from. That local rivalry with Haladás still shapes the city's handball calendar, alongside meetings with Ferencváros, Győr and Vác further up the table.

Pődör Rebeka carried the team's attack through this stretch: captain in 2021–22, third on the NB I scoring list that season with 151 goals, she returned to top the league's scorers in 2025–26 with 237 before moving on to SCM Universitatea Craiova in January 2026.
