TAFIC

TAFIC grew out of a split from TAFA, the Tati African Football Association, when residents of the Kgaphamadi location broke away and formed their own side in 1959. The nickname Matjimenyenga comes from a stream that runs behind the Maipaafela and Kgaphamadi locations.

In 2022/23 it avoided the drop only because of a result involving Eleven Angels. That reprieve was followed by another First Division North title and a return to the top flight.

Eddie "Venter" Marks became the first Matjimenyenga player capped for Botswana, in the late 1980s, opening a path that more recent internationals such as Gape Gaogangwe have followed. The club's one venture outside domestic football, an entry into the 1993 CAF Cup Winners' Cup, ended with a withdrawal at the preliminary round.
