The fixtures against Drava Ptuj carry weight the league table cannot explain: both clubs draw from the same municipality, and the meeting is billed locally as the Spektakularni derbi, the town's own contest before it is anything else. A second rivalry has grown from the standings themselves — matches against Dravinja of Slovenske Konjice, styled the Sosedski derbi, have in recent seasons come down to which side finishes higher in the Vzhod group of the 3. SNL.

Videm pri Ptuju gave the club its home, and its ground, Športni park Videm, holds somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 for a side that has spent its recent history in the third tier by choice rather than necessity. In 2022/23 Videm won the Vzhod group outright, a result that came with promotion to the 2. SNL — and the club turned it down, choosing to stay put.

What that decision cost them in ambition, the club recouped in the cup. Playing as ŠD Videm in the 2023/24 Pokal Slovenije, they beat Središče ob Dravi 7-0, then Podvinci 2-0, then advanced past Nafta 1903 after a scoreless draw, a run that carried a third-division side into the last sixteen before Ilirija 1911 ended it, 3-1, in March 2024. The following season's cup run stopped earlier, again at the hands of Nafta 1903.

The name most tied to that stretch is Robert Kurež, a forward who had already played at Aluminij, Mura and Drava Ptuj, and in Greece for Ergotelis, before he arrived at Videm in 2022. He stayed three seasons and scored 41 goals in 59 appearances, the kind of return that explains why a club willing to pass up promotion could still win a cup tie 7-0. Kurež left in 2025, but the derbies with Drava Ptuj and Dravinja remain the fixtures Videm's season is measured against.
