Korotan Prevalje

Prevalje's club was never one continuous thing. What plays today under the name Korotan carries the shirts and the ground of a side founded in 1933, but not its licence — the original folded during the 2002/03 season under debts it could not clear, and by the time the paperwork caught up with it, a replacement had already been registered in the town, a football school called DNŠ Prevalje that soon took the old name back. The Slovenian federation keeps the two apart to this day, refusing to add one club's record to the other's.

The first Korotan had its moment. Nine seasons in the Prva Liga between 1994 and 2003, a fourth-place finish in 1999/00, and that same season a run to the Slovenian Cup final, lost to Olimpija Ljubljana over two legs. There was even a continental trip, into the Intertoto Cup in 1999, ended at the first hurdle by Basel, who put six past them without reply in the away leg.

None of that belongs to the club now playing out of Športni park Ugasle peči. Its own list is smaller and more recent — a run of promotions through the lower Slovenian divisions, champions of the sixth tier in 2008, the fifth in 2014, the fourth twice, in 2016 and again in 2023, plus a regional cup with MNZ Maribor either side of that second title. It sits in the third division, 3. SNL East, for 2025/26, still going by Plavi, still in blue, on a ground that holds close to a thousand.
