The Mestský futbalový štadión holds 4,400 people. The stadium is known locally as the Zemplín štadión.
Football has been played in the town under one banner or another since 1912, when the club began life as NAC Michalovce. For most of the Czechoslovak decades it belonged to the second tier and the leagues below it, and the honours it collected there — four titles in the eastern group of the 2.
Then came the fall. By the late 1990s Zemplín were in the third division. The return took another 17 years: the 2.
Zemplín stayed up. The club has still never won the championship or the cup.
