About the player
Alexander Lundin got his first Allsvenskan minutes because a team-mate was hurt. Against IF Elfsborg on 5 May 2013, Mattias Asper went off injured and Lundin replaced him in the 21st minute. Mjällby AIF lost the match 1–2. The appearance came a few years after he had moved from his local side, Nättraby GoIF, to the Mjällby youth set-up.
Mjällby was not where he stayed. He was loaned to Husqvarna FF in 2014 and then left on a free transfer for Falkenbergs FF, where he spent 2015 and 2016. Västerås SK followed in 2017, Akropolis IF in 2018 and 2019, and IF Brommapojkarna from 2020 to the end of 2022.
In December 2022 he came back to Mjällby, again on a free transfer, with a contract running to 2026. The club he returned to was on its way to something it had never done. In 2025 Mjällby won the Swedish championship, the first league title in its history, finishing on a record 75 points.
Lundin's part in that season was as understudy to Noel Törnqvist, the goalkeeper who played the matches. Lundin made one league appearance in the campaign. The afternoon in 2013 when a team-mate's injury put him on the pitch against Elfsborg was a long way from that season, but both spells came at the same club.
