About the player
Athletic Club signed Bruninho on loan from Santa Catarina in March 2026, giving the young forward a spot in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série B. His football began in 2017 in Cruzeiro's youth ranks in Belo Horizonte, and he was promoted to the senior squad in 2022. From there he moved on to Cruzeiro Arapiraca before joining Santa Catarina in May 2024, the club that ultimately sent him to Athletic on loan.
Bruninho was called up to Brazil's Under-20 side and started in the opening match of the 2025 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Chile, against Mexico, playing the full 90 minutes. He has no senior call-ups to date.
He plays as a forward and is left-footed, wearing the number 7 shirt at Athletic. The move to Série B football places him at a club with recent silverware in its own history, including the Recopa Mineira and the Campeonato Mineiro do Interior, though those titles came before his arrival and are not part of his own record.
