About the player
Cláudio Moreira da Silva has joined each of his last three clubs on a free transfer. The most recent was Penafiel, whom the left-footed centre-back signed for on 15 July 2025 on a contract that runs until 30 June 2028.
He is from Porto and came through the youth system at FC Porto. With the under-19 side he played in the UEFA Youth League in 2017/18 and again in 2018/19. In 2020/21 he turned out for the club's under-23 team in the Liga Revelação, the Portuguese under-23 league.
In August 2022 he signed for CD Feirense and stayed until July 2024, playing in Liga Portugal 2, the Segunda Liga.
On 1 July 2024 he joined FC Politehnica Iași in the Romanian Superliga, and he spent the 2024/25 season there. Two weeks after the start of July 2025, he was back in Portugal and again in Liga Portugal 2, this time with Penafiel.
