About the player
Florian Krüger has worn a lot of shirts for a player still in his twenties. Since leaving Schalke 04's youth ranks, he has moved through Erzgebirge Aue, Arminia Bielefeld, FC Groningen, Eintracht Braunschweig, Beerschot VA and 1. FC Saarbrücken before signing for MSV Duisburg as a free agent. The forward is both-footed and wears the number 26 shirt.
Krüger's most eye-catching contribution in recent memory came at Saarbrücken, where he scored a hat-trick in February 2025. He carried that form into his move to Duisburg, helping the club reach the final of the Niederrheinpokal in 2025, though Duisburg lost that final to Rot-Weiss Essen.
His best-known achievement remains from underage football: Krüger was part of the Germany squad that won the UEFA European Under-21 Championship in 2021, featuring in the match against Hungary. That triumph capped a run of 18 youth caps for Germany across the U16 to U21 levels, in which he scored six goals.
At Duisburg, now playing in front of a fresh set of supporters, he arrives with a reputation built on that hat-trick in Saarbrücken and the cup run that followed him north.
