Tobias Fleckstein

Tobias Fleckstein spent over a decade in Schalke 04's youth system, joining the academy in 2007 after starting out at local club SV Teutonia Riemke. He never made a senior appearance for the club, playing instead for the U17 and U19 sides before leaving in 2018. Two seasons with Holstein Kiel II in the Regionalliga Nord followed, where he scored twice in 45 appearances, before he moved to MSV Duisburg in the summer of 2020.

His first season at Duisburg brought the defining moment of his career so far. As the club pushed for promotion from the Regionalliga West to the 3. Liga in 2020-21, Fleckstein scored the winning header in a 1-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach II that sealed the promotion. He has stayed at the club since, signing several contract extensions, the most recent in January 2026, and has gone on to make well over 150 appearances for MSV Duisburg, scoring ten goals along the way.

At international level, Fleckstein's experience is limited to two matches for the Westfalen U16 regional selection back in April 2015, and he has not featured for any of Germany's youth or senior national sides. His career has instead been built at club level, from Schalke's academy pitches to a promotion campaign and a long, settled spell as a regular in Duisburg's defence.
