About the player
Niklas Jessen came through Hamburg's youth system by way of Walddörfer SV before a spell at Bayern Munich, then returned to FC St. Pauli, where he broke into senior football with the second team in the Regionalliga Nord. Across three seasons there he made 78 appearances. A move to Borussia Dortmund II followed for the 2024–2025 campaign, taking him into the 3. Liga, though the season also brought a reminder of the game's fragility: in May 2025 injury ruled him out of a match against SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
That same month, Jessen joined MSV Duisburg on a free transfer. At Duisburg he continues his career in the 3. Liga.
Jessen has also represented Germany at youth level, picking up caps for the U15, U16 and U19 sides.
